Historical engraved stone discovered at Golconda Fort

A 2 feet long ‘katba’ in the shape of a pillar was discovered from a pile of stones at Golconda Fort from a place where camels were tied. The heritage sign belongs to Qutub Shahi era. The engraved pillar has inscriptions in Arabic, Persian and Telugu languages. It shows how Ibrahim Qutub Shah patronized and preserved Telugu language during his period.

Superintendent of Archeological Survey of India Hyderabad has expressed extreme happiness over the discovery of a historical sign. He has placed the pillar on a platform outside the office of Archeological Survey of India.
