Hyderabad, October 12: The historical City College, a heritage building is in peril as a 30 feet deep trench has been dug for sewerage line in front of the building. This project began on February 15 hopefully it will be completed till May 2012. It has been told that the sewerage line will go through Moosi River, High Court road, City College to Moosa bowli, Mahboob chowk, Moti Gali, behind Makkah Masjid, Panch Mohalla bus stand, Shalibanda, Syed Ali Chabutra till Aliabad. Then the other lines of the city will be connected with this main line.
Experts say that digging is not allowed within the limits of 30 meters around any heritage building but JCP has dug 30 feet ditch in front of the historical building of City College without municipal permission.
It should be noted that on August 18, 2010, 30 feet deep ditch was dug near the historical Jamia Masjid aiwan at Begumpet due to which cracks appeared in the hall and towering beautiful minarets of the mosque.
Hence those working on the sewerage line should take care and feel their duty to protect the City College building.
