Department of Archeology, GHMC, Police Department and Pollution Control Board all have failed in taking good care of Charminar and its surrounding. The pedestrian project which was started 15 years ago has not been completed yet. The stones laid have come out at many places and water spew out from them.
Ramadan is fast approaching if the floor is not repaired immediately and the flow of water is not stopped people will face a lot of difficulties.
On the other side pollution control board is also unmindful of the destruction caused by environment pollution to the heritage structure. The air pollution at Charminar and surrounding areas has been recorded 127 micrograms per cubic metre, which is quite higher than the other busiest places of twin cities.
