The Role

We are providing Program Management and Construction Management (PM/CM) services in support of rail, infrastructure and mixed use improvement programs across the Middle East including but not limited to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. The major components of these programs include rail, hospitals, schools, water treatment, and related infrastructure, along with safety, security, and environmental and sustainability services.

Our team is growing and we are currently seeking for an Construction Manager (Architectural Delivery) for the Doha Metro project, that will be based in Doha Qatar. The incumbent will report functionally to the Deputy Project Director.
The Construction Manager (Architectural Delivery) is responsible for managing and leading the coordination, inspection, monitoring, reporting and quality for delivery of architectural fieldworks on Doha Metro Major Stations. This will include structural steelworks, masonry, cladding, glazing, wall, floor and ceiling finishes, doors, windows and associated hardware, and all other architectural finishes in the assigned work fronts, manages architectural delivery as part of the overall Project Delivery Team (civil, MEP, design and change integration, etc.).
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for developmnet and resolution of major architectural issues, challenges, actions and other problems in a large and complex project.
• Responsible for the development and implementation schedules
• Manage the review and respond process for architecture to 3rd party queries or escalate to senior management as required. Progress queries and issues raised by team that are beyond in-house capability to resolve either autonomously or with senior management support.
• Manage and lead the resolution of field issues to deliver results as quickly as possible based on the situation to maintain complex and difficult schedule requirements. Timeframes for resolution of field issues with be commensurate with the project requirements.
• Manage the application of quality management approaches to ensure design and specification are met across a complex architectural delivery requirement.
• Manage the Site Architect and On-site Leads.
• Manages multiple disciplinary inspection and testing planning and execution to ensure that the contractors follow and deliver on project requirements. Experience in this area required, QA Manager certification level a bonus.
• Ensure that Client needs are met in a timely and cost effective manner.
Requirements
• Highly qualified candidate will have specific knowledge and experience managing the integrated design process for architecture including design intent to contractor shop drawings process. Must manage to schedule and specification the review process.
• Working knowledge of international design standards, QCS 2014 and QCDD regulations is desirable
• The candidate should be self-innovative, creational, and able to work under minimum level of supervision in a heavy workload environment. This will be beside a quality sense of defining technical problems, collecting appropriate and related data to establish solutions.
• Language and other communication skills must be highly developed
• Properly and thoroughly inspect workmanship and materials.
• Highly effective stakeholder management and interface coordination skills
• Contract management skills
• Ability to drive and inspire his team
Required Experience
• 15 minimum years of dedicated field experience in a similar role
• BSc Architecture or related engineering or construction. (Construction Management is acceptable with an architectural focus). Masters preferred.
• High-end front of house and utilitarian back of house experience
• Major project experience required. Preferably large buildings or projects with an architectural emphasis of international significance.
• Experience as a contractor or subcontractor on major projects is preferred.
• PMP preferred. LEED certification is a bonus. Registration as a Professional Architect preferred.
• Language and other communication skills must be highly developed
• Major Metro project experience is a critical advantage.
• Candidates must be of good health and fitness as fulfillment of duties requires that the manager traverses the under construction station which is large in area and the equivalent of seven basement levels below grade.
