New Delhi: Hiring activity registered 26% jump in October, led by IT-software and ITES industries which recorded the maximum increase in recruitment activity, and this trend is likely to continue going forward.
According to the latest Naukri Job Speak report, the index figure for October 2015 stood at 1,715, as against 1,356 in the corresponding period last year and this growth was largely driven by an overall growth in all sectors.
“The job market continues to sustain the momentum gained over the past few quarters and is moving further north with a 26% year-on-year growth over last year October and November base,” Naukri.com Chief Sales Officer V Suresh said.
Suresh further said that “looks like this trend will continue and the festive season is likely to bring cheer to job-seekers across sectors.”
Sector-wise, the year-on-year increase for ITES industry moved from 27% in September to 36% in October.
A similar trend was displayed by the IT-Software industry as well where the increase in hiring activity moved from 24% in September to 34% in October. These were followed by FMCG, BFSI, Healthcare and Media and Entertainment industries showing similar trends as well.
The growth in the demand for journalists recorded an all-time high for the year 2015 and registered a 69% year-on-year increase. The demand for media professionals increased from 26% in September to 53% in October.
Similar trends were seen in the demand for consulting, marketing & advertising, ITES, BFSI and IT-Software professionals as well.
Delhi-NCR continued to record the maximum increase in hiring activity among the metros for the second month in a row, followed by Mumbai, Hyderabad and Pune.
