Hindutva outfits giving Rs 2 lakh, house to converts: ex-minister Merajuddin

Meerath: Reacting to the reports of Muslim family converted into Hindu in Baghpat, Prof Aslam Jamsheedpuri head of the department of Urdu, CCS University said while the move taken by the family should be condemned for committing major sin, clerics, intellectuals are also equally responsible for such incidents. We have been shouldered the responsibility to preach others about true Islam. Such incidents are also the result of conspiracy against Islam which have religious as well as political motives behind them. These are the planned conspiracies of enemies of Islam, he said.

Former Cabinet Minister Mairaj Uddin Ahmed who also held the Lok Sabha from Baghpat in 1998, said organisations like Bajrang Dal, Hindu Vahini and the likeminded radical organisations who have been working to spread hatred have now stooped to such cheap tactics. He told that it is learnt that they are giving 2 lakh rupees and a house to those who change religion. He said he met Zonal Commissioner of Meerut Anith C Mesharam and appealed strict action against such elements.

Mr Mairajuddin revealed that the family which converted to Hinduism in Baghpat was also lured by anti-Islam organisation and the incident was the result of lack of education.
