Ahmedabad, September 18: Sticking to his stand on Hindutva, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat said he cannot stop using words like Hindu or Hindutva even if they are adversely affecting political parties close to the Sangh parivar on ideology.
Delivering the concluding lecture of a two-day long seminar on ”Hindutva in the present context” organised by the Bharatiya Vichar Manch at the Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration here last night, Mr Bhagwat said, ”The meaning of word ”Hindu” is not limited to the people of Hindu religion but it includes all those who are born here, including Muslims and Christians. In fact, they all are Hindus as their ancestors were Hindus so their blood is Hindu blood.
” While clarifying meaning of word ‘Hindutva’, the RSS chief said, ”Hindutva cannot be classifed as Hindutva of Swami Vivekananda’s or of RSS as in reality it is continuous discovery of ultimate truth (God).” ”Therefore in today’s scenario word ‘Hindu’ has become necessary as there is no replacement to it. We cannot leave it, Vishwa Hindu Parishad can’t leave it,” Mr Bhagwat said in an emphasising tone.
Protests against Muslims and Christians are not part of Hindutva, who are non-violent, he said.
He also emphasised that Hindus should become strong and powerful as the world respects those who are powerful and strong.
This was second visit of the RSS Chief to Ahmedabad within a month’s time.
Others who attended the function included Dr Pravin Togadiya, International Secretary General of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), former union minister Subramaniam Swami, Ahmedabad mayor Kanaji Thakor, Gujarat BJP president Purushottam Rupala and Gujarat minister Nitin Patel.
