Hindustan Prefab keen to set up Rs 107 cr Unit at Viza

A delegation of state-run Hindustan Prefab Ltd (HPL) today called on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy here and expressed its interest to set up a branch at Visakhapatnam with an estimated cost of Rs 107 crore. The delegation, led by HPL CMD Jaiveer Srivastava, informed the Chief Minister that it will take up housing, institutional buildings, hospital buildings, sports complexes, disaster rehabilitation works using precast concrete and prefabrication techniques, according to a release issued here from the Chief Minister’s Office. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the state government was providing lakhs of houses to weaker sections, 14 lakh houses were being built apart from Urban and Indira Awas Yojana Housing projects.

The Chief Minister said one lakh youth were being trained by National Academy for Construction every year. The Chief Minister asked the officials to examine the proposals submitted by HPL for establishment of its Unit at Visakhapatnam. With a dedicated team of 500 employees, HPL is a profit making public sector undertaking, having projects in 17 States and in Sri Lanka, the release added. UNI
