NEW DELHI: On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, Muslim community across the country decided to show their anguish by tying black armbands to silently register their protest against targeting innocent Muslims and murdering them without reason.
People from different parts of the country shared their photos wearing the black armbands on social media using hashtags #StopKillingMuslims, #EidWithBlackBands and #StopMobLynchings.
Citizens belonging to the majority community also decided to show their protest against these attacks and killing of Muslims in the democratic country.
One Puneet Vishwas also decided to show solidarity with Muslims over the brutal killing and joined the protest with a black band on his arm.
He walked 12 kms to reached Idgah with black ribbon and tied it to the Muslim worshippers.
Puneet also posted some pictures on Facebook along with caption saying:
12 Kilometer lagbhag chalkar aaya ho,
Thakan se bura haal hai lekin dil mai ek ajab sa sukoon ka ehsaas ho raha hai,
Bayan nahi kar sakta aaj kitni khushi hui hai,
Bahot hi kareeb se dekha aaj apne Hindustan ko,
Kuch Nahi Keh Sakta,
Behad mohabbat mili apne Musalmaan bhaiyaon se,
Kuch log aase bhi mile jo mere mathe par tilak dekh kar muh pher liya,
Bas abhot khush hu aur kuch nahi…
