Hindu Sena blackens Babur Road signboard

Babur Road signboard in Bengali Market area here in the national capital was blackened by Hindu Sena workers on Saturday.

These activists demanding that the government should change the name of the road after some great Indian personality and not a “foreigner” like Babur who attacked India.

The signage was erected by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

According to Hindu Sena, the founder and first emperor of the Mughal dynasty was “atrocious” and the country does not belong to a person like him.

Earlier in 2015, posters of the right-wing group Shiv Sena Hindustanwere pasted on the signs of roads named after Muslim personalities such as Emperor Akbar and Firozshah.

The BJP government renamed Aurangzeb Road after former President APJ Abdul Kalam.
