Hindu religious leaders make scathing attacks on BJP

Lucknow: As the 2019 elections are drawing near, the Hindu religious leaders have intensified their attack on BJP for failing to build Ram temple. On the other hand, the BJP leaders are trying hard to divide the voters on religious grounds by making provocative statements.

Taking a dig at BJP, Shankaracharya Swami Nishchalanand Saraswati said BJP only used the name of Ram for gaining power and forgot it once it got power. The Shankaracharya of Govardhan math claimed it is beyond the capacity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build the temple.

On the other hand, chief of Hindu Mahasabha Swami Chakrapani who kept himself away from VHP Dharam Sabha accused BJP of toying with the sentiments of Hindus. According to him, BJP had promised to build Ram temple once it comes to power at the centre. It did not fulfil its promise. Swami Chakrapani announced that Parliament will be gheraoed on December 13. He asserted that 2019 election will be do or die for BJP.

Giving yet another provocative statement, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said as long as BJP is in power, no masjid or maqbara will be built in Ayodhya. He told this while addressing a Dalit Sammelan at Vishveshwarya auditorium in Cuttack. He claimed that Congress is an obstacle in construction of Ram temple.
