With only 10 days to go for the Valentine’s Day, the Hindu Mahasabha is back in news and this time the Hindu hard-liners are showing no love for Valentine’s Day.
Hindu Mahasabha had said it will convert inter-religious couples to Hinduism on Valentine’s Day (February 14) across the country.
Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh will be the focus with 200 volunteers recruited for identifying inter-religious couples on V- Day.
Their plan is to target couples found with roses, hugging each other, holding hands or sitting in corners.
The Hindutva outfit is offering a “quick and easy” marriage as per the Hindu religion to couples following a different religion. This strategy would be a weapon against “love jihad,” said Munna Kumar Sharma, national general secretary.
“This is the best way to deal with love jihad. If the Muslim or Christian partner, boy or girl, really loves the Hindu partner, let him or her convert to Hinduism and prove their love,” Mr. Sharma asserted.
According to Mahasabha’s National President Chandra Prakash Kaushik, the non-Hindus must wilfully embrace Hinduism and that Muslim boys should convert. “Why should only girls sacrifice their religion?” he demanded to know.
