Hyderabad: B Padmaja, an intermediate second year student has bagged second place on Sunday for her Telugu essay on the life of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). She also received a cash prize of ₹25,000.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH) affiliate Student’s Islamic Organisation conducted the competition titled ‘Inspired by Prophet Muhammad’.
Inspired by the virtues of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) Padmaja decided to enter the competition. She says, he (pbuh) saw everybody as equal and took measures to protect women’s rights. Padmaja prepared for the competition just a day before the competition.
The Hindu has quoted Padmaja as saying, “It’s important that people look for good things in different faiths. Only this can help all of us co-exist.”
Around 20,000 students in different parts of the State wrote the essay in Telugu, Urdu and English.
