Hindu body admits Babur had endowed land for mosque in Ayodhya

New Delhi: Hindu body fighting the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title case admitted before the constitutional bench that according to Muslims Babur had endowed land for mosque.

As reported by the Inquilab with reference to Jamiat Ulama Hind, hearing of Babri Masjid title suit entered into the 13th day. During the hearing, lawyer of Nirmohi Akhara S K Jain began his incomplete argument and told the constitutional bench comprising of 5 judges that prayer was not performed on the disputed site since 1934 while a temple is present on the site whose caretaker is Nirmohi Akhara.

The day before, bench had asked Sushil Kumar Jain if Nirmohi Akhara opposes suit no 5, a plea filed by Ram Lalla, then will its case not get weakened? The bench asked him to apprise it of the view of ‘Akhara’ on Tuesday as to whether it was still seeking dismissal of the lawsuit filed by the deity and others.

On this Sushil Kumar Jain said Nirmohi Akhara will not oppose Ram Lalla’s plea on the condition that the plaintiff of suit no 5 does not reject Nirmohi Akhara’s claim of being the caretaker of the site.
