The state election committee of Himachal Pradesh’s ruling BJP has recommended a panel of three names, including party General Secretary J.P.Nadda for the lone Rajya Sabha seat falling vacant on April 2.
The other two names were Lochen Tulku (Head of Key monastery in Spiti) and Chander Sen Thakur, a former MLA,
state BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti said.
Nadda, who resigned as Forest Minister following his appointment as BJP general Secretary in April, 2010, is a
sitting MLA.
The seat is falling vacant following expiry of term of Congress member Viplov Thakur.
Satti, who took over as state BJP chief on February 29 last, said some changes would be made in the organization in
the near future and some posts lying vacant would be filled.
