Hijab is that Islamic dress code whose importance and benefits are acknowledged even by the non Muslims. While the Hijab protects women’s modesty, it also protects them from skin diseases, climate impact, road romeos and thieves and chain snatchers. This is the reason that we find many non Muslim girls roaming around the city by covering their faces, heads and necks by scarves or stoles.
Kavita a student of Narayana Junior College told that she had got acnes all over her face when contacted the dermatologist advised her to protect her skin from dust, pollution and sunrays; so she started wearing scarf.
Another non Muslim student told that by wrapping herself in shawl or stole she feels herself safe from thieves and chain snatchers. Even the boys don’t tease her. Usha Rani also got relief from asthma since she started wearing Hijab.
