Highest fake currency seized in Gujarat post demonetization

New Delhi: Minister of State for Home Affairs, Hansraj Gangaram Ahir told that the highest seizure of fake notes was reported from Gujarat. He informed this to Lok Sabha on Tuesday, 7 August. He revealed this while replying to a question.

The minister informed the house that fake notes with face value of over Rs 13.8 crore were seized in the country post-demonetisation, and the highest seizure of over Rs 5.94 crore was reported from Gujarat, followed by Rs. 2.19 crore in Uttar Pradesh, Rs. 2 crore in West Bengal and Rs. 1 crore in Mizoram.
