New Delhi: The good news for the metro commuters in the national capital is Delhi Metro has tied up with two companies to provide high speed Wi-Fi on all its corridors. The free Wi-Fi will be available from the second half of the year, and it’s a part of the efforts to provide increased facilities and convenience to the passengers, said the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Delhi Metro had earlier signed an MoU with another company, RailTel, in 2015 to provide Wi-Fi at five stations – Rajiv Chowk, Kashmere Gate, Vishwavidyalaya, Central Secretariat and Hauz Khas.
The work, which has been undertaken by Techno Sat Comm and PING Network, will roll out what will potentially be India’s largest platform of Wi-Fi services. Jagdip Rana, director, business development of the company said “Techno Sat Comm has been given exclusive licence by DMRC to provide Wi-Fi services for 10 years.”
