Mr. M. Veda Kumar, President for “Forum for Better Hyderabad” told that the Andhra Rulers have not spared any attempt to pollute Husain Sagar Lake during the past 30 years. He recalled that till 1975, the water of Husain Sagar was used for drinking purposes. The industrial wastes have contaminated Husain Sagar. He also told that TDP govt. had sanctioned 18 Multi Storey buildings around Husain Sagar with an intention to damage the image of Husain Sagar. “Forum for Better Hyderabad” had approach the court to save the lake. The construction of high rise buildings will damage the lake. It may also create traffic problem. It is therefore requested that the Government should withdraw this plan.
