Malkajgiri MP Ch Malla Reddy and MLA C Kanaka Reddy on Saturday met Maj. Gen. Cyrus Addie Pithawalla, General Officer Commanding, at his office along with Resident Welfare Association’s representatives BT Srinivasan, K Nagaraj , G N V Satish Kumar, M Hanumantha Rao and requested GOC to process the proposal received from GHMC and State Government with the Ministry of Defence for the alternative road plans to solve the issue of army closing roads for civilian vehicles in AOC Secunderabad cantonment area.
During the discussions, the GOC, mentioned that, army has received the proposal for four alternative routes from GHMC out of which three are under consideration and want local civic authority officials i.e GHMC to work with army engineers & official to prepare exact alternative route diagram, mapping inch to inch alignment measurement for the final submission to MOD (Ministry of Defence) to obtain permission for allocating the army land.
The GOC, agreed to the MLA and MP’s request for intervening to speed up the survey process, preparing the proposal to submit MOD. He agreed to convey a high level meeting on 12th January at 11 AM on ground in AOC with civic authorities and army for further course of action.
The MP, MLA and the Resident Welfare Association’s representatives thanked GOC for all his help which would help all the residents of many colonies in and around Malkajgiri and Alwal and other nearby places. (INN)
