(Siasat News) A.P. High Court has ordered Medical Council of India to provide 50 additional seats each to three medical colleges in Osmania University area within two days. Court has also directed these medical colleges to complete the formalities of providing infrastructural facilities. High court has issued these orders on the petitions submitted by Osmania and Kakatiya Universities. They had challenged the decision of Medical Council of India for not granting additional seats. These Universities in their petition had contended that Medical Council rejected the plea for additional seats on trivial grounds such as shortage of toilets, non-functioning of lift and scarcity of out-patient wards.
Political parties of Telangana area were agitated and they wrote letters to Medical Council of India.
