The Andhra Pradesh High Court has dismissed the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed challenging the condition of setting up of set-top boxes in Hyderabad and Vizag cities.

On Tuesday, the High Court bench comprising Justice NV Ramana, Justice Vilas V Afzalpurkar has directed the consumers to arrange set-top boxes themselves within four weeks. The bench also directed the MSOs and Local Cable Operators to keep the set-top boxes ready for the sake of consumers and also directed the consumers to set up the set-top boxes in a prescribed date, dismissing the petition which alleged that it was against the constitution that the Centre, which has failed to keep the adequate set-top boxes to the consumers, imposed the condition on the consumers to arrange set-top boxes themselves within a stipulated time.
