High alert sounded in city

Hyderabad, September 06: A high alert has been sounded in the city in the wake of communal tension in Adoni.

All police mobile parties have been asked to stay on high alert and, irrespective of its size, each Ganesha procession was escorted by cops on Monday night. Patrolling has been intensified in the communally sensitive south zone and some pockets in west and central zones.

“On Monday, 90 Ganesha idol immersion processions were carried out in the south zone and all of them were escorted,” DCP Vineet Brijlal said. The centralised Ganesha procession is scheduled for Sunday and over 15,000 police personnel have been deployed in the city for the bandobast.
