High alert at Hyderabad Airport

Hyderabad: Security at Hyderabad Airport which is officially known as Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) is on high alert after receiving bomb threat email.

According to the report published in Times of India, customer care email id of the airport, rgiacustomersupport@gmrgroup.in had received the bomb threat email from sairamkaleru@live.com at 2:31 p.m.

Content of the email

In the email, he wrote, “I want to blast bomb in airport tomorrow”. After receiving the email, the RGIA customer support team immediately alerted the Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC). The information was soon passed on to the Security Operations Control Centre(SOCC) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).

BTAC meeting held

A meeting of Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was also held. At the end of the meeting, the mail was declared non-specific.

Mr. N. Prakash Reddy, Shamshabad DCP said that during the checking throughout the airport, no suspicious material was found. He also said that necessary steps are being taken to avoid any untoward incident.

Meanwhile, airport authority lodged a complaint against the person who had sent the threat email.
