High alert in Hyderabad after Delhi blast

Hyderabad, September 07: An high alert has been sounded, especially in Hyderabad, in the wake of the high intensity bomb blast near the Delhi High Court this morning.

Soon after the receipt of information about the Delhi bomb blast, the Director-General of Police, Mr. Dinesh Reddy reviewed the security measures being taken in the state and advised all the district officials to remain vigilant and provide the need security measures at all sensitive areas.

The DGP has already held a video conference with senior police officers of all the districts, especially the Commissioners of Police of Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Vijayawada ,Visakahaptnam and other important cities in the state with regard to the security measures taken in view of the ensuing Ganesh immersion ceremony on Sunday.

Already about 25,000 police personnel including para military forces have been deployed in the state capital in connection with the Ganesh “nimmajanam” programme. With this morning’s bomb blast in Delhi, the security and patrolling have been further tightened.

Three NSG platoons have been specially deployed at the A.P. High Court premises and a thorough check has been undertaken by the bomb squad personnel. Entry into the court premises has also been tightened and entry granted only after thorough checking and frisking. Similar security measures were also taken up at the Nampally Court premises.
