Hi-Tech prostitution racket busted in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, May 22:Task Force sleuths on Sunday busted a prostitution racket by arresting eight pimps and rescuing 14 sex workers in the limits of SR Nagar, Panjagutta, Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills. The Task Force sleuths also seized Rs 12,500 from the pimps in cash besides ten mobile phones and booked six cases.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Commissioner’s Task Force VB Kamalasan Reddy, the raids were conducted as part of a special drive to curb the menace of prostitution and personnel from the West, Central and North Zones participated.

The DCP said that the pimps were operating brothel house in Hyderabad at different posh localities. They used procure sex workers from different parts of Andhra Pradesh and other states and used to earn amounts through flesh trade earlier as part of their business.

In view of growing agglomeration in all trades in Hyderabad City, the pimps in Hyderabad are procuring sex workers from different parts of country particularly Mumbai and Kolkata as there is high demand for sex workers by paying huge amounts to them and to their agents.

The DCP said that the sex racket organizers procure sex workers from Mumbai, Pune, Calcutta, Bheemavaram, Karimnagar, Vijayanagaram, Vijayawada and Vishakapatnam.

The police added that the organizers are employing sex workers on weekly or monthly on contract basis.

Out of the six cases which were booked, two cases handed over to SR Nagar police station, one case to Panjagutta police station, two cases to Banjara Hills police station and one case to Jubilee Hills police station for taking necessary action.(INN)
