Hyderabad: Noted film personalities, including Telugu Hero Mahesh Babu and singer SP Balu and others today returned their Rythu Bandhu cheques to the officials concerned.
Playback singer SP Balasubramanyam has returned his cheque for Rs 23,700 for 5.37 acres land at Solipet in Shabad mandal to the revenue officials. They set an example taking a call from Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao that the rich and others who do not require government help may return their cheques under “give it up” scheme.
Actor Mahesh Babu’s wife Namrata too returned Rs 16,000 cheque for the two acres land they possess at Nagaram in Maheshwaram mandal of Ragna Reddy district. Also film producer Y Ravishankar returned his Rs 16,000 cheque to the officials at their residences in Banjara Hills. Ravishankar appreciated the cheques scheme as it will help the farmers in a big way. He also termed as historic the forthcoming Rs 5 lakh insurance scheme for the farmers. (NSS)
