Keeping his promise, reigning Tollywood actor G. Mahesh Babu today announced that he would adopt Siddapuram village under Kothur mandal of Mahbubnagar district.
In his twitter account, the actor said on the advice of IT Minister K T Ramarao he has taken a decision to adopt this village after much thought. And soon the village would get a face-lift with basic facilities and infrastructure. Kothur mandal is nearer to Shamshabad International Airport.
According to sources, Mahesh Babu is also planning to adopt Burripalem in Guntur district, native place of his father yesteryears superstar Gattamaneni Krishna. It may be said his latest hit Srimanthudu is all about adopting a village to develop it and prompted many noted personalities to adopt most backward villages.
Interestingly, KT Ramarao, who appreciated Mahesh for the film had asked him to adopt a village. Recently another actor Prakash Raj also came forward to adopt Kondareddypally in Mahbubnagar district. Prakash Raj recently met KT Rama Rao a few weeks ago and informed him that he would adopt that village for development. (NSS)
