Hyderabad, October 02: If government and authorities go on keeping silent on the destruction of historical monuments then the day is not far when not a single heritage of the historical city would remain. Several such buildings were obliterated from the face of the world which were declared as historical heritage.
Recently a unique Spanish type mosque was heavily damaged at Begumpet and now another building faces threat from builders.
Mumtaz mansion which is also a heritage building where Mukarram Jah hostel is found, situated at Lakdi ka pul faces threat from digging up of the frontal area where the construction work is in progress. The building is under the custody of Zaheer mazil trust. It has been told that at the western end of the building the property of Mr. Khusro Nawab is located and it has been given to a developer to build a complex.
For the past few days digging work is underway to build a multi storied complex which poses a great risk to Mumtaz Mansion.
