HYDERABAD: In a bizarre incident, a Hyderabad-based businessman was left with serious burn injuries after a chef poured boiling oil on him.
Going by the reports, the incident took place at Hotel Harmain in Chandrayangutta area on Friday when the customer identified as Mohammed Bin Bakshadi went there to have breakfast.
The 29-year-old man ordered poori for breakfast and was told that he had to wait for 15 minutes. But even after half-an-hour of wait, the Bakshadi wasn’t served.
Bakshadi again asked the chef, identified as Jahangir for the delay. Annoyed and impatient over the delay, the customer shouted at the manager and allegedly used abusive language on the chef that led to the scuffle.
During the argument that ensued, Jahangir lost his calm and immediately took the boiling oil and poured it on the customer’s face.
The victim suffered burns on his face, neck, and hands and had to be hospitalized.
Based on Bakshadi’s complaint, police registered a case under IPC section 325 against Jahangir who has been taken into custody.
