NEW DELHI: Ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday posted a series of tweets tagging Bollywood celebrities urging them to “encourage” people to come and vote.
The prime minister tagged actors Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan and also Amitabh Bachchan and filmmaker Karan Johar to “creatively ensure high voter awareness and participation in the coming elections.”
“Voting is not only a right but it’s also a duty. Dear @BeingSalmanKhan and @aamir_khan.” “It is time to inspire and motivate youth in your own Andaz to vote so that we can strengthen Apna Democracy & Apna country.”

He also urged actors Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan among others saying, “I am sure their message will have a positive impact on our citizens.”

He also tagged top politicians including Congress president Rahul Gandhi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
