New Delhi: Shahi Imam Masjid Fatehpuri Maulana Dr Mufti Mukarram Ahmed lamented upon the arrests of Muslim youth by NIA and demanded a fair enquiry into the matter. He described the triple talaq bill as a scheme to ruin Muslim families. He said the bill will intervene into Muslim personal law and will create difficulties for Muslim women. It will eliminate the chances of reconciliation and children’s future will be ruined.
Mufti Mukarram expressed these views during Friday sermon. He asked the government why it has no sympathy with the Muslim women whose husbands were killed in riots and mob lynching.
Commenting upon the ban on namaz in the park, he said the move is prejudiced as praying for just 15 minutes once a week doesn’t amount to the violation of the law.
