Srinagar: While saying that only a section of youth is being radicalized, Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir Dilbagh Singh claimed that global militant outfit ISIS has no major footprints in the valley.
While addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Singh said, “a section of youth is being radicalised otherwise there is no major presence of ISIS in Kashmir.”
Dilbagh Singh added that Kashmir is a secular society hence it is always painful to see youth who have picked up arms being killed in operations. Referring to recent unveiling of Daesh flags at Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, he said happening like raising of black flags the other day are being enacted to show its presence.
Expressing concern over youths joining militant ranks Singh said “While neutralising militants is a success but at the same time losing lives is painful and cannot be a thing to be celebrated.”
