Here’s how some LeBorn James’ fans got lucky

Washington: NBA store in New York recently sold LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers jerseys prematurely.

The No. 23 jerseys were sold by mistake for supposedly an hour on Friday (local time), but quickly pulled off after that, reports ESPN.

This happened after James recently announced his decision to join the Lakers on a four-year, USD 153.3 million contract.

But, as he has still not officially signed with the team yet, so no jerseys can be sold.

A statement on the sale by an NBA spokesperson read, “Due to tremendous fan interest, the LeBron James Lakers jerseys were prepared to be put on sale at the NBA Store upon an announcement by the team.”

Adding, “Mistakenly, they were placed on shelves prematurely.”

However, online pre-sales for the jersey are permissible as soon as a contract is agreed to. Hence James’ jerseys were available online for roughly 30 minutes after he made his announcement of his joining the Lakers. (ANI)
