AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday called upon the people to come forward to help the cyclone affected people thinking it is their social responsibility.
Speaking to mediapersons here, the Chief Minister appealed to philanthropists, individuals and corporate houses to come forward to lend a helping hand to the cyclone victims. He expressed satisfaction that the people were wholeheartedly coming forward to cooperate with the government. “Whatever be the expenditure on the gigantic task, my goal is to solve the problems of the people”, the Chief Minister said. He specifically lauded actor Pawan Kalyan’s social commitment and congratulated him for donating Rs 50 lakh to the Hudhud victims. Naidu said his priority was to provide all help for the victims. “I talked to West Bengal Chief Minister thrice and procured potatoes for the people of Vizag. Power supply has also been restored to Visakhapatnam Steel Plant to prevent losses”, he said.
“Once this (cyclone relief) is over, we are preparing new plans for Visakhapatnam. Not just planting trees. I am working on a new vision for Visakhapatnam. I am going to rope in best consultants from across the world, who handled similar cities in the world”, the Chief Minister said. (NSS)
