Help return AP Secretariat to TS: CM urges Guv

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today urged Governor ESL Narasimhan to handover five building blocks in Secretariat allotted to AP to TS to enable it to build a new Secretariat building in a year.

KCR called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan here and handed over a copy of cabinet resolution in this regard. As the TD Government has no qualms on the same, Rajbhavan can take immediate steps to handover the five blocks to the TS Government, he is learnt to have appealed to the Governor. KCR closeted with the Governor for some time and reportedly sought to know about his Andhra Pradesh counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu’s response on his plea to handover five blocks in Secretariat to Telangana.

They said to have shared the views expressed by Chandrababu favouring a dialogue to avoid skirmishes and sort out common problems and handing over the blocks followed by a Cabinet meeting which is a formality now. KCR, who expected Naidu’s reply, seems to be on cloud nine as it will pave an easy way to move ahead with his plan to build a new Secretariat by dismantling them. In turn, the KCR Government offered required accommodation to the skeletal staff of AP Government at Gruhakalpa or other place in Hyderabad.

Naidu reportedly offered to give back the buildings to the TS Government for which he almost spent about Rs 25 crore for renovation during his stay here. Though Chandrababu as Chief Minister can make use of the offices in Secretariat and others in Hyderabad for 10 years as per AP Reorgnisation Act, he had to switch over with all departments to Velagapudi at Amaravathi to avoid the fight with KCR Government in the wake of cash for vote scam seeing light and defaming the TD Government. (NSS)
