Maulana Abdul Aleem Islahi denied that his son, Motasim Billah helped the SIMI members from Maharashtra who were proceeding to Afghanistan. He further told that by fabricating false stories, police wants to declare his family as terrorist. For the past 10 years one of his sons Mr. Mujahid Saleem Azmi was killed by Gujarat Police in 2004 on a busy road of Hyderabad. Hyderabad police instead of arresting the Gujarat police officials helped them to arrest the citizens of this State. During the killing of Mujahid Saleem, the charges of attempt to murder were leveled against his son, Motasim Billah and others. The investigation of this case has been completed and the judgment is likely to be pronounced any time in order to affect the case of attempt to murder police is using such tactics to arrest his son under some pretext or the other. He further told that his son presents himself in the court on the occasion of every hearing but the police is showing him as absconding. He informed that earlier, he had soft corner for SIMI but when it was banned, he dissociated with it. His son told that he did not help the SIMI activists of Maharashtra who have been arrested recently.
