Muslims lag behind their countrymen in every field of life but when it comes to weddings, they spend lakhs of rupees for sumptuous dinner, stage decorations and other wedding customs. While hundreds of poor girls are crossing the age of marriage in the social context, as their parents can’t afford marriage expenses even for the simple wedding, well-off people leave no chance to have a gala time by performing ostentatious weddings just to flaunt their wealth.
You would be surprised to learn that these days cranes are being used to carry heavy garlands meant for the groom. Recently a marriage was held in the city where crane was used to carry the garland to be worn by the groom.
In an appalling incident, orchestra troops were called in a wedding function. The music was so loud and groom’s brothers were so busy in dancing to the tune of music that they could not listen to the groans of their own uncle suffering with heart pain. His groans could not drown out the noise of music and the revelers paid no heed to the people trying to call their attention to the situation. Later it was learnt that the uncle succumbed to the deafening sounds of the music.
