Heera Group Case: Tension prevails outside Nampally Courts

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed for sometime outside the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate courts at Nampally today when some of the depositors (victims) of the Heera Group of companies stopped the car of a lawyer, who reached there to represent Nowhera Shaik, the director of the company.

It may be recalled that Nowhera Shaik was arrested by the police last week for her alleged involvement in a cheating case registered at the Central Crime Station. Some depositors had alleged that the company had cheated them after collecting money assuring good returns on their investment. The court was hearing the bail petition filed by the counsel of Nowhera Shaik and the police custody petition filed by the Central Crime Station, today. The decision was postponed to 3 p.m, and when the lawyer was leaving, the depositors stopped the car and hurled footwear at the vehicle.

Following this, “bouncers” of the lawyer, who were present on the court premises, pushed away the agitating women. As a result, some of the women reportedly sustained injuries. The women after taking first aid at the Osmania General Hospital went to the Nampally police station and lodged a complaint with the police.

Following the incident, the police have beefed up security at the Nampally courts.
