Shimla:Heavy rains lashed several parts of Himachal Pradesh since yesterday causing a marginal drop in mercury.
Joginder Nagar was the wettest place in the state with 165 mm rains while Arki received 85 mm rains followed by Baijnath (45 mm), Sarkaghat (44 mm), Gohar (43 mm), Palampur (39 mm), Sujanpur (33 mm), Jubbarhatti (27 mm), Agahr and Kahu (25 mm each), Dehra Gopipur (20 mm), and Dharamsala (19 mm).
Shimla and surrounding areas received intermittent rains.
The minimum temperature dropped marginally to 14.4 degrees Celsius at Manali while Keylong and Kalpa recorded the minimum at 16.4 and Shimla 16.9 degrees Celsius.
Una recorded a maximum temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius.
The MeT office here has predicted rains and thunderstorm at many places in lower, mid and higher hills over next six days and also warned of heavy to very heavy rains at many places in mid and lower hills over the next two days
