Hyderabad: Heavy rains hit Nalgonda headquarters and its vicinities two days back. It broke the record of the past 119 years.
It is reported that in the night of 17th September, incessant rain started. It was so heavy that nothing was visible. It continued for more than 2 hours. Houses in all the low level colonies were inundated with water. Roads became tanks. Electric current was disconnected till late at night.
Officials instructed the people to shift to safe places. It is reported that in the district, the average rainfall was 61.4 mm whereas, at Nalgonda headquarters, it was 20 cm.
