New Delhi: Heavy rains lashed parts of the national capital this afternoon, bringing some relief to the city dwellers from humid conditions.
“Rains occurred around 2 PM and some parts of NCR, in Gurgaon and areas neighbouring Palam also received rainfall,” a MeT Department official said.
Humidity level of 83 per cent was recorded at 8.30 AM.
The downpour also triggered traffic snarls in parts of the city, with vehicles coming to halt at various intersections and busy roundabouts.
The minimum temperature in the capital was recorded at 28.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season’s average.
“The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 34 degrees Celsius,” the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 34.6 degrees Celsius, while the minimum settled at 28.3 degrees, both a notch above the normal.
