Hyderabad, October 31: Heavy rains today continued to lash coastal Andhra Pradesh and several places in Rayalseema region for the second consecutive day.
Chittoor, Nellore, West Godavari, Krishna, East Godavari and Visakhapatnam districts have been receiving heavy rains for the last two days.
According to the Met, Bhimavaram (West Godavari district) recorded extremely heavy rainfall of 25 cms, while very heavy rainfall was recorded in Machilipatnam (Krishna district) with 20 cms, Kakinada, Kavali 17 cms each, Koderu 15 cms, Atmakur (Nellore district) 14 cms followed by Kalingapatnam, Narsapur, Nellore, Elamanchili (Visakhapatnam district), Peddapuram (East Godavari district) 13 cms each.
The Met department has forecast heavy to very heavy rain at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 48 hours and occurrence of heavy rain at a few places over Rayalaseema during the same period.
