Hyderabad: Rain started after Magrib Prayer in the evening yesterday. Those who were waiting to go out shopping were disturbed. They came back home since water accumulated on most of the roads.
According to the forecast of the Met. office, rains would continue for the next 48 hours. The rain started at 8 p.m. yesterday and continued till late at night. Emergency Squad of GHMC came into action. ‘Thela Bandi’ hawkers faced a lot of difficulties due to rain.
In order to take stock of the situation, Dy. Mayor of GHMC, Mr. Baba Fasihuddin visited the commercial spots in the city and activated municipal staff. He instructed the municipal officials to make arrangement for the passage of water at various places. On account of the visit of the Dy. Mayor at various business stops, the process of clearing stranded water was accelerated which resulted in relief to the traders.
