Heavy rainfall kills seven in Yemen

Sanaa, May 06: Seven people were killed in a torrential rainstorm in the Yemeni capital Sanaa, a security official said on Thursday.

Wednesday’s downpour also injured two people and swept away six cars, the official said.

Nearly 200 homes in a shantytown north of the capital were washed away by the waters, the official added.

Two people were killed in the Saudi capital Riyadh earlier this week as heavy rainfall swept the Arabian peninsula.
