Hyderabad: Hyderabad witnessed heavy rainfall on Wednesday which transformed the city roads into lakes. Many low areas were immersed in water. Complaints were received from many areas about falling of trees but no serious accident took place. The rain had started late at night which continued till the afternoon of Wednesday. During the next 48 hours, there is a forecast of more rainfall. Maximum rainfall was recorded in Amberpet area whereas in Rajendranagar, Charminar and Qutubullahpur areas less rainfall was recorded. The emergency squad of GHMC was made alert to clear traffic jam on the roads. Students faced difficulties in reaching to their schools.
Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner of GHMC visited many areas and reviewed the emergency work.
