Kuwait witnessed heavy rainfall in the past one week which led to heavy floods in the country and Tuesday’s rainstorm was the worst one that has caused an estimated loss to about KD 100 million ($330 million), reports said.
The estimation was calculated by Kuwait’s Engineers Without Borders.
The organization’s head Zainab Qarashi said in a statement that the country in need of a radical solution to save hundreds of millions of dinars for the government and society which could help the nation from seasonal floods in the long run.
She explained though increasing the absorption capacity of the drainage networks will be quite expensive but it will be a real investment that will reduce losses caused by seasonal floods.
