Heat Wave Conditions Prevail In Rajasthan

Jaipur: Heat wave conditions prevailed in Rajasthan on Sunday as day temperatures hovered between 41 and 47 degrees Celsius at various places.

Phalodi town was the hottest in the desert state, recording a maximum of 46.5 degrees while Sri Ganganagar was scorching at 45 degrees. Bikaner was close at 44.8 degrees.

State capital Jaipur recorded a high of 41.6 degrees, two degrees above normal. The minimum in Jaipur was one degree above normal at 26.5 degrees.

The border towns of Barmer and Jaisalmer were also hot at 44.7 and 44.5 degrees, respectively. Kota and Ajmer recorded highs of 42.7 and 41.5 degrees, respectively.

The weather office said there would be no respite from the heat wave in the next 24 hours.

“Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places in the state in the next 24 hours. Jaipur may see partly cloudy sky with maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 42 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively,” a weather department official said.
