The Coastal Andhra districts of Krishna, Guntur And West Godavari continued to reel under oppressive heat wave conditions which have already claimed as many as 16 lives so far in Krishna districts. Official sources said the 16 people died during the last 20 days in Krishna district while as many as 15 others were hospitalized with symptoms of sun stroke.
However, unconfirmed reports said that about 25 people died of sun stroke in the district so far. The day temperature recorded at Gannavaram AirPort today was 45 Celsius (113 F). The minimum temperature was 27.8.C.
The temperature has been hovering above 45 Celsius in Guntur and West Godavari districts too. UNI
