Ahmedabad, May 24: Prevailing heatwave conditions in Gujarat have claimed 14 lives.
The weather department has issued a warning that similar conditions would prevail in North Gujarat and Kutch regions for another day.
Three children from Jhalod taluka of Dahod district died during treatment in hospital today after they suffered sun stroke yesterday, district officials said.
They victims been identified as Suchi Charel (12) of Gardu village, Ranjeeta Vasaiya (5) of Dhavadiya village and Rajesh Katara (4) of Piporodiya village in Jhalod taluka, they said, adding over 30 patients are still under treatment for exhaustion and heat.
In Ahmedabad, five persons have died to heat in the last 24 hours, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) officials said today.
One Fatima Saifuddin (78) died in the V S Hospital today, while late last night four persons.
